Georgia leadplant makes an excellent garden specimen, endemic to only to a handful of moist, acidic, sandy, open woodland sites in the Coastal Plain region of NC, SC, and Georgia. Most extinct populations were lost due to habitat conversion to farming, forestry, and fire suppression. In the garden, it has thrived for us in heavily amended sandy
